Desc: Meet the Blands: Directed by Ricardo F. Gonzalez. Paul and Martin Bland finally had enough of their boring, uninspired, drawn out lifestyle. Paul, a tired and once highly regarded graphic novelist now working as a sales clerk at a local comic book store, and his husband, Martin, a former international fashion model turned nurse assistant are ready to turn their lives around and finally attempt to leave the confines and the stigma that plagues so many Millennials. They want to take control if their finances and open up a high end restaurant in a trendy up and coming part of Austin, Texas. The Blands have saved up money, have found a location, and have contacted a Property Lender that will work with them as they prepare to take their first steps into a new chapter of their lives, but the current economy and political climate have other plans - Their humble apartment is located in an area under heavy gentrification, and with rich weirdos and colorful characters pouring in ranging all the way from international playboys to Youtube Influencers, all trying to take a slice of the "art Scene" that the neighborhood promises, all racing to put pressure on the Blands to speed up the process of acquiring the restaurant before they get priced out of their dreams. One night, much like any other night, the tenants next door throw a wild swingers party and a drunken guest accidentally storms into the Bland's apartment on the same night as their carefully planned dinner party with an investor. In an attempt to quickly rid themselves of the unwanted guest, they accidentally kill him and they soon realize that by luring in and offing off swingers and socialites and taking their money, they might actually be able to "swing it" and buy their restaurant before times runs out.
